Weekend Under the Oaks

Driving down the oak-lined entrance to Boone Hall Plantation you can’t help but take in the beauty of historic Charleston. During the Southern Living Taste of Charleston at Boone Hall you also experience the smells and tastes of our city’s rich culinary culture. This year’s Taste of Charleston was a two- day affair for the taste buds.

Maverick Southern Kitchens kicked off the weekend with the Southern Living VIP Party on Boone Hall’s Cotton Dock. Guests raised glasses of Maverick Bloody Marys, featuring Maverick Private Label Vodka and Charleston Bloody Mary Mix, toasting to a flavorful weekend ahead.

Saturday and Sunday the Old Village Post House, Slightly North of Broad and High Cotton combined forces to represent Maverick Southern Kitchens together. Our booth was in a prime location next to the Beer Garden and across from the music stage. We served Fried Catfish Tacos with an avocado lime salad and slaw paired with Biltmore Century White wine. Guests were able to walk around and enjoy tastings, live music and great refreshments in the stunning grounds at Boone Hall.

Thank you to all our staff who volunteered and made this a successful Taste of Charleston. We are already looking forward to 2012!
