Yet many avowed foodies achieve full adulthood with little or no training in how to cook - really cook. That's where Danielle Wecksler and her crew come in - transforming raw desire into mad kitchen skills.
Northern Virginia native Jennifer Neeld spent much of her formative years living in various locales around the world. Call it the norm for the child of a parent who works for the government: Jennifer learned early on that the world was full of interesting people and set out to get to know them. With such an interest in others, it's little surprise she found her way to Maverick Southern Kitchens, where hospitality and strong relationships are two of the company's main ingredients.
For Emily Kimbrough, the word "locavore" isn't a movement: it's simply how she and her family lived. On a farm in Waynesboro, Georgia, Emily grew up with her agricultural engineer father, farmer/homemaker mother and organic blueberry farmer uncle, picking berries, planting flowers, harvesting vegetables, milking cows and feeding chickens.
