David Marconi
Director of Operations and Owner

As Director of Operations for Maverick Southern Kitchens, David Marconi manages the daily activities of the company’s three restaurants and inn. Starting as assistant restaurant manager in 1992, Marconi readily embraced the company philosophy of delivering wonderful food with professional and hospitable service. He has been instrumental in the company’s three current restaurants, having served as opening general manager for each. His exceptional performance earned for him an outstanding reputation in the restaurant industry and an ownership position in Maverick Southern Kitchens.

A native of Connecticut, Marconi is a veteran of restaurants in Boston, Nantucket and Washington, D.C. Along the way, he developed expertise in all phases of food and beverage operations, most notably as manager of several restaurants with nationally-known chef and James Beard Award winner Bob Kinkead.

Marconi is actively involved in the downtown business community and restaurant industry. For the industry he has served as a member of the board of directors of the Charleston Restaurant Association and as a leader in the association’s annual oyster roast and Taste of Charleston charity events. He is often called to serve on city committees addressing restaurant policies and regulations.

Marconi and his wife Ann reside in the historic district of Charleston. His passions for food and jazz are exceeded only by his love of the Boston Red Sox. He has smiled continuously since October 2004.
